I work at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. I am not afraid to face problems and I am drawn to challenges from every technical field. If I am not out cycling with friends, hanging on a rock, beekeeping with my dear girlfriend or felling trees with my father, you may well find me in my office buried in books. Except at weekends, when I love going back to my native Strunkovice nad Blanicí.

I certainly do not claim to be a world champion in all of the tools listed above, but I have used them many times and reach for them with confidence whenever needed. I really enjoy learning new things, so extending this modest list is definitely not a problem.
I am not afraid of teamwork; I have tried the roles of leader, programmer and secretary. I very much enjoy communicating with people. What I enjoy most, though, is explaining a topic to others, whether laypeople or advanced specialists. I would attribute this trait to my background in teaching.
I like to spend my free time with my dear girlfriend Móňa and friends, ideally hanging on a rock somewhere in West or South Bohemia. When the temperature drops below 15 °C, my frozen girlfriend sends me and my rock to… well, to one of the indoor climbing walls in Pilsen. So in autumn I usually buy a season pass to the V16 Climbing Centre and train for the spring. In 2020 I treated myself, completed the necessary training and opened a sport climbing club under DDM Prachatice in my native Strunkovice nad Blanicí. So far the club has always been packed to bursting and the kids seem to enjoy it. When on sunny summer days my hands sweat so much that not even chalk can cope, you will find me nowhere else than in the saddle of my bike, surrounded by a bunch of naughty kids from the summer camps at Lipno or Tokániště.
After a few hours of a mix of programming and procrastination, I love to indulge in playing the guitar or the piano, which I successfully studied at the Elementary Art School in Vlachovo Březí. At the moment I keep company with a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano, which I am genuinely happy with.
When it is not freezing outside and we are not holed up at an indoor wall, my girlfriend Móňa and I regularly head out to the rocks. We have climbed West and South Bohemia far and wide and occasionally go to the Alps too. We are just not brave enough yet for our famous “sandstone”.
For my eighteenth birthday I invited a few friends from secondary school to our mill. Since the party was a huge success, I invited them again a year later. But nobody had time in May and we only found a common date at the beginning of August. So we renamed the event “Lijba u Blanice” and have held it on this date every year since.
In the summer of 2020 my dear grandfather came to me with a request. He wanted to tour a few bell foundries in the country with me and choose a bell for the small bell tower that was being built in front of our house at the time. Sadly, we never managed to carry out that plan, and so at the end of the summer came the idea of making the bell ourselves – my last gift to my grandfather.
